Maine

DJ at Long Sands Beach
The Nubble Lighthouse

DJ had fun climbing rocks with Daddy

This is where we stayed (right across the street is Long Sands Beach in the town of York Beach)

We enjoyed the Best Ice Cream at Brown's Old Fashioned Ice Cream right around the corner from the Lighthouse

Gavin getting a stretch between all the driving.
This just wouldn't be a true reflection of our trip without including this picture (the mood the kids were in most of the time). Due to the cold weather, fussy children, and storms on the way (gotta love summer on the East Coast!) we shortened our trip by 2 days (we were planning to drive further up the coast). The first night home I asked DJ what his favorite thing he got to do in Maine was and he told me, "I LOVED going to the McDonald's with the BIG SLIDE inside!" ( a spot we took a break at on the way home) Needless to say, we CAN'T WAIT until we live near family who will keep our kids while we enjoy vacations like this on our own!

LOL...I'm sorry I found great humor in your little jaunt up the coast (kids + long car rides = miserable parents); however, the pix you posted are gorgeous. Some day I hope to see the East Coast, preferably during the fall when all the colors are screaming at me.

OH....don't feel bad some day they will enjoy those vacations with you but for now you are right leave them with Grandma and you and Daryn go have a good time. The sooner you move back to California the sooner it can happen!

Daryn is adventurous--hopefully, he will be able to impart his explorative nature to the boys. Stacey, you're a good trouper and patient mom. And it looks like both were really tested! Someday you'll look back and be glad you saw more of the East Coast--especially since you will be coming home soon and won't have that opportunity.

All the tears were SO WORTH those GREAT pictures...especially DJ in the car. BTW - you need to e-mail me when you post. I haven't checked this in forever thinking you wouldn't have done it without e-mailing me!
